Battle Lake Baptist Church
Sunday Morning Hours: Coffee 10:30 am.    Service 11:00 am.

For the remainder of 2017 we will be featuring talented guest speakers to share the word of God in a way that relates to you and your circumstances today.
These men have served God in the Mission Field both at home and abroad, are pastors and Cowboy preachers, they come from farming/ranching/oilfield backgrounds and understand the issues we have in rural Alberta.

How is the Bible relevant in your daily life?    What does that ancient book have to do with what you are going through today?
The answers ARE there! The relevance IS in there!

Join us each Sunday - just an hour out of your week to fill your cup and prepare you for what lies ahead.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Welcome from the board and members of Battle Lake Community Baptist Church!

Greetings to you in the Lord! It is our privilege to welcome you to this web site on behalf of the members of Battle Lake Community Baptist Church, a friendly Christ centered church!
At Battle Lake Community Baptist, you'll find a congregation whose purpose is to:

  • Grow in the love of Christ
  • Reach out in the name of Christ
  • Affirm the body of Christ
  • Care in the nature of Christ
  • Exalt in the glory of Christ.
  • As a growing body of Christ that has been active in the Battle Lake area for more than twenty years, it would be our sincere pleasure to have you join us at Battle Lake Community Baptist Church sometime in the near future.

    Mission Statement

"He said unto them, Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15

"To build up in Christ, to reach out in Christ"

    BATTLE LAKE BAPTIST CHURCH
is a God centered worshiping community which builds one another up in Christ and reaches out to our neighbours and the world in missionary witness and compassionate ministry.

    How do I get there?

    Battle Lake Community Baptist Church
Hwy # 13, west past Hwy #771   1.6km. then first right, immediate left for 2.5 km. and church is on the right hand side!

    What are the Services like?

We gather together each Sunday morning to worship God as a family and to express to Him our love, our thanks, and our devotion. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord together!

When you arrive you will be welcomed by many of the regulars in the congregation as well as officially by the ushers at the entrance to the sanctuary and given a church bulletin for that service.

    Where should I sit?

Feel free to take a seat anywhere in the sanctuary or have our ushers help you find a seat. There are no reserved seats for members of the congregation.

Our worship services blend the comfort and familiarity of traditional worship service with one or two contemporary songs - though our lean is more towards what we know - the old traditional hymns.
Our worship leadership team is always looking for new additions!

Ours is not a strictly regimented Worship Service. We encourage members, both adults and children alike, to participate if they feel a desire to do so. (Just let us know!)

An overhead powerpoint presentation is used for words to hymns.
Bring along your Bible, or use one that is provided in the seat backs and read along with the message.
This is something we encourage - the Bible is our reference - it is our guide - refer to it often and make sure that what you are hearing is what is written.
Hymnals are also in the seat backs.

The collection plate is passed during the service. You are under no obligation to participate - just let the plate go by, or give the usher a nod or jesture letting him or her know. Many of our members tithe once a month, so don't feel awkward about letting the plate go by!
If you do choose to tithe, there are envelopes behind the seats for that purpose.

    Communion Sunday
The last Sunday of the month we hold Communion.
Please join with us in taking part.
Communion is a memorial through which we reflect on the great sacrifice that Jesus made.
The ushers will pass around bread/wafers.
Take one and hold it until the plate has passed to the whole congregation, and the Pastor prays over it.
'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'
Then the grape juice is passed around, again, as before until:
'This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.'

"For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" (1 Corinthians 11:26).
When we partake of the Lord's Supper, it is a proclamation and embracing of what Christ has done for us.

    Battle Lake Baptist Church

Visiting us?, don't worry - we won't single you out! Just sit back, enjoy the service and take in God's word with us.

After the service we invite you to stay for coffee and goodies - you'll notice that we don't rush out the door at Battle Lake Baptist Church - so please feel free to join us for coffee and snacks!

    The World's MOST Popular Book!

There are tables in the Fellowship room with pamphlets and brochures from the various upcoming events. We encourage you to take whatever might be of interest to you!
We have a small library right off of the front doors. Please feel free to go inside and see what books and videos we have. Feel free to take any out - please remember to return so others can also be blessed!

    What do I wear?

No matter what your personal style, you'll be comfortable at Battle Lake Community Baptist Church. If you prefer dressy or casual attire, chances are there will be others dressed much like you no matter when you visit. Sure, Sunday mornings are a time when many prefer to dress up a bit, but if jeans are more your style, you'll be right at home with us.

Preschoolers and children learn while they play. We encourage hands on play so that children are learning through all their senses. Use your own judgment about how dressed up your child is while at church.
A morning time of preparation to go into God's house is always helpful and instills a sense of importance and reverence into our young children. Aim for neat and tidy, and you can't go wrong!

The nursery is located at the entrance to the Sanctuary. It has quiet toys and a place to change your baby if the need arises.

    Can I meet the Pastor?

Currently we do not have a full time Pastor. For the remainder of 2017 we will be using experienced pulpit Supply with a variety of gifted men and women to share the word of God with us.

They will be available after the service if you would like to speak to them. If you have any pastoral needs or need to talk, please contact Eve Finlay, and she will set you up with the right person to listen to your needs. 780-898-3839 phone or text.

Sunday School - has been suspended until the fall 0f 2017

Sunday School classes - Adult, is held before the regular service, at 10:00 a.m. (not during June, July, August & Sept.) Please feel free to join us as we cover many interesting topics of the Bible. This is a great time if you have questions about scripture you'd like to ask.

We currently do not have a Children's Sunday School teacher as there are no children attending BLBC on a regular basis. Once there is a need this postion will be filled.
